Warren is a Shareholder and leader of our Government Services practice. He has over 40 years of experience in accounting and auditing services for governments and nonprofits. Previously, Warren served as the Assistant Comptroller for Accounting of The City of New York, where he was responsible for all aspects of the City’s accounting and financial reporting. He was also the Secretary of the City’s Audit Committee.
Warren began his distinguished career by joining a "Big Four" firm in 1979. In 1989, he joined the staff of another "Big Four" firm where he specialized in audits of not-for-profit organizations and governments. He has also served as the Chief Financial Officer of an international not-for-profit organization.
A noted author, he has written several well-respected books about governmental and nonprofit accounting and auditing matters, including: Not-for-Profit Accounting Made Easy, Not-for-Profit Organization Audits, Not-for-Profit Audit Committee Best Practices, OMB Circular A -133 Audits, GAAP for Governments and Governmental Accounting Made Easy.
