David is based in our Providence, RI office and joined the organization in 2005.
He has more than 20 years of experience in serving U.S.-owned and foreign-owned multinational companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, family-owned businesses, and high net worth individuals.
David has worked with clients to tax-efficiently expand their operations domestically and abroad, develop value-added strategic tax plans designed to leverage future business changes, structure acquisitions and dispositions, develop family wealth transfer plans, and assist with FAS 109 and other tax accounting issues. He has strong technical knowledge and experience in federal, international, and state taxation.
Prior to joining the firm, David served as the leader of a Big Four's tax practice in Providence, Rhode Island and coordinated tax services for venture capital funds, foreign-owned businesses, publicly-traded and privately-held companies operating in the technology, manufacturing, and professional services industries.
David's past experience also includes performing research & development tax credit studies, acting as temporary Chief Financial Officer for a privately-held software company, and working closely with small business owners to prepare a company for sale. David's expertise includes estate planning, individual tax planning, subchapter S and partnership planning, C Corporation, S Corporation, and partnership returns.
