Webinar: Tax Reform and the Effect on the Construction Industry
The tax reform bill was signed into law on Dec. 22, 2017, bringing sweeping and historic changes to our country’s tax laws. These changes generally are effective in 2018 and impact every taxpayer, including many provisions that will significantly impact the construction sector.
We will focus on the manner in which construction businesses are impacted by the new law, and will offer insight about how the sector should respond to the new provisions.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course you will be able to:
- Familiarize yourself with the provisions in the tax reform bill that will impact construction businesses, and specifically those provisions that will be most impactful, including rate reductions, the new pass-through entity deduction, how pass-through entities compare to C corporations, and how more contractors will be exempted from the percentage of completion method
- Begin developing a plan that responds to these new provisions in order to take advantage of new opportunities, and to negotiate trade-offs involved with other provisions under the new law
