Michael is a Shareholder and co-leads the Real Estate practice across several of our East Coast offices. With over 30 years of public accounting experience, he primarily concentrates on the real estate industry, where he serves commercial and residential real estate clients, real estate management companies as well as co-ops, condominiums, retirement plans and trusts. Michael also advises high-net-worth individuals and family partnerships. He advises his clients on all facets of accounting and tax issues, including transactional services, tax projections and business planning.
Michael's experience also includes serving in an audit capacity for commercial real estate owners and operators, syndicated partnerships, and real estate investment trusts (REITs). He has assisted clients in the formation of public REITs with services including the preparation of GAAP-basis combined financial statements, pro forma financial statements and other documentation in accordance with SEC requirements. Michael has also coordinated the efforts of management and numerous outside accounting firms to facilitate the audit of combined financial statements as part of an IPO process and filing for a high-profile REIT. In addition, he performs GAAP-basis audits of private real estate investment funds with SEC reporting requirements.
