David M. Barrash

David received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1981. David began his professional career with Philip Rootberg & Company, LLP in Chicago in 1981, and remained there until 1986 when he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. There David was an audit supervisor for two local firms until June, 1991 when he rejoined Philip Rootberg & Company, LLP. In 1997 David was admitted as a partner of the firm, which then merged into CBIZ and MHM.

David is licensed in the State of Illinois and is a member of the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society, the Government Finance Officers' Association, and the Illinois GFOA. David has a diverse background with audits of clients in many different industries including, governmental entities, nonprofits, real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, and hospitality. He is one of the firm's national leaders in the governmental industry and has been the firm's national representative with the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center. He is a recent member of the MHM Technical Committee, which is the firm's standard-setting authority. David is one of our firm’s national practice leaders in the area of audits performed in compliance with regulations of HUD.
