As MHM’s General Counsel, Bill provides comprehensive legal support and guidance to MHM's executive leadership and board of directors, as well as to its offices around the country. This includes advising on professional liability, contract, employment, governance, M&A, and regulatory matters, as well collaborating with business leaders to improve internal processes and risk mitigation. Bill is also a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.
Bill has both an accounting and law background. Previously, Bill was at Baker Botts LLP in Dallas, Texas, where he represented accounting firms in actions involving audit, tax and consulting services, as well as regulatory matters. He also served as an enforcement attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as Vice President and Associate General Counsel of a $1.5 billion leading provider of financial, property, and consumer information and analytics. Bill is also a CPA and formerly worked as an auditor at a Big Four firm. Bill received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law and his B.B.A. in accounting and Master in Professional Accounting degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
